Lina Chopra Haldar writes children’s books that weave math and storytelling together to spark curiosity and inspire young readers to see themselves as confident mathematical thinkers. She draws on 20+ years of experience in STEM education as a classroom teacher, researcher, evaluator, and curriculum developer, and she holds a Ph.D. in mathematics education from the University of California, Berkeley.
In her debut picture book, Dear Math, We’re Not Friends, the main character writes letters to math as he works through his fears and uncertainty about the subject. His humorous letters and growth throughout a school year show children how universal and FUN math can be. This book makes an excellent gift for teachers, librarians, and parents who want to help kids find the joy in math. It will will be published on August 11, 2026 and is available for preorder wherever books are sold.
